2012 Holiday Hours

rackAID’s sales and case-based support offices will be closed starting 12:00 Noon ET Thursday Dec 22nd through Monday Dec 26th for the Christmas Holiday. We will resume normal hours on Tuesday, Dec. 27th. If you have a managed server or subscription-based services, support will be provided in accordance with your SLA. We will also be closed Jan. 2nd for New Years Day.

Web Site Performance: What is Time to First Byte?

Speeding up your web site can be tough. The developers blame the system administrators, the system admins blame the code, the marketing team insists on their detailed tracking scripts be included on every page. One way to help sift through this infighting is metrics. A key metric, at least from the server side, is Time to First Byte. This is a quick overview of how to interpret the Time to First Byte and where to look to improve this metric.
