Partners: Icon Flair or Real Relationships?

Partnerships are the lifeblood of business, especially when it comes to IT. Unfortunately, you often should replace the words “Our Partners” with “Stuff we Use”. Logos from big corporations may add credibility, but you should always dig to find if a real relationship exist. Partners are essential to managed service providers, and if you are a buyer of IT services, you should look for them in your vendors.

Web Hosting and Rotisseries:  You Can’t Set it and Forget It

Web servers are not Ronco rotisseries. If you believe the infomercials, Ronco’s Rotisseries’ are great. You just, “Set it and Forget It’. The convenience is great for the kitchen, but it does not translate to your hosting services. You (or someone you trust) must assure that your hosting operations constantly maintained, that warning signs don’t go unnoticed, that buzzers are heard. Otherwise, you may burn your business.

A Quick Way to Update Plesk’s Spamassassin Rules to Fix 2010 Issue

Recently, I’ve been seeing more and more reports of users saying that good email are getting marked as spam. This issue is due to a bug in SpamAssassin that treats dates past 20xx as far future dates. Fortunately, you can easily update your spam assassin rules to fix this issue.
