End of Life for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3

Today, Red Hat announced the 6-month notification for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 3's end-of-life. The regular life-cycle for RHEL 3 will end October 31, 2010.

Easily Find Bad Email Passwords on Plesk

Bad passwords can be costly. Recently, I had to spend several hours cleaning up a server due to poor end-user passwords used for email accounts. Spammers guessed these passwords and starting flooding the system with email. As soon as one account was fixed, they hit another. So I needed a quick way to find bad passwords. While not exhaustive, this little trick can save you a lot of time.

Ok, I am going to poke my neck out and likely get it chopped off by a PHP guru, but in my experience, web developers make terrible server managers. Leaving your server management tasks to your development team may be convenient but could cost you time and money in the long run.
