On April 1st, rackAID closed on a new office space. We are working hard to get it ready and should be in the new space by the end of the month. We found a nice spot near San Marco Square and are working now to get some renovations and services ready.
Once the office is completed, we will be hiring more staff to assist with administrative tasks and technical support. We plan on hiring a half-time account manager to handle all invoicing, payments and vendor relationships.
We are also on the lookout for a talented IT staff member to take over much of the case-based support work. This position will allow Juli and Stewart to focus on our backup, monthly management and managed server products. This will also allow me to focus more on business development and our managed cluster installations.
We expect recruiting to go well. One of our reasons in selecting Jacksonville was the abundance of community and technical colleges. There is large US Navy air base and naval base here with plenty of well-trained workers looking for jobs when the leave the Armed Services.
Just over the St. Johns river, Modis has a major presence here. They are an IT staffing firm. We may be able to find someone from there who's grown tired of the corporate world of IT and looking for new challenges supporting small businesses.
We've a few more items to wrap up in the office, but we will get some photos posted when it is finished. The space used to be an art gallery and previous to that a furniture store. The location is just a few blocks from the San Marco Square, a trendy eating, dining shopping spot here in Jacksonville.
