The latest version of Ensim, 10.3.0, comes with a number of new features and fixes for problems of earlier versions. Perhaps the most important news is that Ensim 10.x now can be installed on RHEL 5 and CentOS 5.
New features include a cron job manager (something Plesk has had for some time) and a new email template that allows for customized email notifications after export/import operations.
Fixes include PHP functioning when a high security site is migrating from Ensim Pro 4.x. Previously php would produce internal server errors upon migration (this was initially addressed in a hotfix late last year). mysqld will now skip innodb at restarts. Note: Ensim does not support innodb tables. MailScanner version 4.50 now has the Lock Type set as 'posix' instead of 'flock' so the potential for duplicate emails is no longer a default.
As tempting as a new version may be, we strongly recommend waiting before rushing out to upgrade. This especially holds true for Ensim products. Our experience has shown Ensim releases to be buggy and even when Ensim appears stable issues can arise with RHEL updates. This was the case earlier this year when glibc updates caused issues with ssh, sendmail and proftpd on Ensim boxes. We've already heard reports of 10.3.0 upgrades failing on CentOS 4.5.
