Bundle and Save

Monthly server management clients receive a 30% discount on basic and complete backup services.

Restore Support

We provide support for one minor restore incident per month (time not to exceed 30 minutes per incident). We provide a eight hour response time to restore requests. However, if you are also a monthly server management client, you have emergency restore support in accordance with your management SLA.

Backup Setup

We provide full setup service for your backup service. Our staff will install, test and seed your initial server backup. After testing, you may login to the web interface and configure your email reporting.

Disk Allocation

Pricing is based on disk allocation and service level. Our entry level plans provide 20GB of data storage. Your data is compressed on our backup systems. This allows you to store significantly more data within your space. Server configuration files, email and html often compress by as much as 90%. We have found that most general use servers fit into the 20GB allocation. Additional disk space is always available.

Primary and Secondary Backups

Primary backups are physically located away from your server provider and current network. These off-site backups afford the greatest protection in the event of a major incident with your server or server provider. Natural disasters, fire, electrical problems or other major events could render your server and/or your server provider inoperable for a number of days. There have been a number of power related incidents at dedicated server providers that resulted in prolonged outages. By having your backups off-site, you can be assured you can get to your data to start recovery procedures.

The drawback of off-site backups is that it can take significant time to restore large amounts of data. Network speed and reliability can cause delays in restoring service. Even if you have a fast GigE connection on your server, you will still be limited by the public networks through which your backups are transferred. As a result, the time to recovery is longer with off-site backups than on-site backups.

Secondary backups are stored at the same location as your server. We recommend that the backup server be on a private network to isolate it from public traffic. The local network allows full GigE connectivity. This permits you to take snap shots more frequently and restore data more quickly.

In general, if your business can withstand a 24 hour outage, our standard service with primary backups will be sufficient to meet your requirements. If, however, you need rapid recover to major incidents or quick recovery from the deletion of large amounts of data (>2GB), then our complete service is preferred.
