Security Scanning

Firewalls & Access Control
As part of our audit, we review your firewall rules as well as other access control mechanisms. We check user accounts for their access method and levels. Where possible, we can help implement various controls to further restrict user access while still allowing your users to do their work without interference.
Secure Protocols
There are many insecure protocols still in use. POP3 and IMAP both send passwords in plain text. Similarly, your SMTP server may be sending email without the use of TLS. To meet best practices, we recommend all services, including FTP, be wrapped in TLS. We will run audits to detect insecure processes, review your SSL certs and recommend a strategy to enforce security protocols for your operations.
Intrusion Detection & Prevention
We will review your various intrusion detection systems as well as your log retention plans. There are many freely available tools that can help detect and even prevent certain attacks. We also review your logs. We check that you both retain logs for an adequate period and that your logs include the right data.

After our review, we will send you a security action plan. This may range from use installing additional security software, fixing exposed servers or configuration your firewall.
